HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Yoder Heritage Day is back on Saturday.
"Early on this year, we sat down as a board and made the decision to go on," said Mervin Fisher. "We did cancel it last year because of COVID and everything that was going on. Most of it is outside, so generally it's not as bad outside as far as getting infected."
The events throughout the day let animals from the area shine.
"They're very, very horse oriented," Fisher said. "That's a big part of our day."
The event is free to get in and all events are free.
"We bring people in from a lot of places," Fisher said. "There's a lot of people that put this on their calendar and show up every year. Sometimes, it's just like a big family reunion where people just get together and enjoy a day together. You don't have to rush anywhere. There's no hurry to get somewhere. There's a lot of different stuff to do."
