Reno County Treasurer Reminds Residents of May 11 Tax Deadline

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Treasurer’s Office is reminding residents that the second half of 2025 real estate and personal property taxes are due Monday, May 11, 2026.

While the statutory deadline falls on a Sunday this year, Kansas law allows taxpayers through Monday, May 11, to submit payments on time.

Treasurer Richele Calvert said taxpayers have several options to complete their payments:

  1. By Mail: Payments can be sent to the Reno County Treasurer, P.O. Box 1685, Hutchinson, KS 67504. Officials say mailed payments will be honored based on the postmark date.
  2. Drop Box: Residents may use the blue drop box inside the Treasurer’s Office or the election drop box outside the Reno County Annex at 125 W. 1st Avenue for after-hours payments. Taxpayers requesting a receipt must indicate that request at the time of payment and include contact information if follow-up is needed.
  3. Online: Payments can be made at the state’s property tax website. Taxpayers will need their tax statement number and Name ID or Tax ID number, typically found on their statement.
  4. In Person: Payments are also accepted at the Treasurer’s Office, located at 125 W. 1st Avenue in Hutchinson, where staff are available to assist.

Officials note that anyone with past-due first-half payments or prior-year taxes should contact the Treasurer’s Office for a payoff amount, including interest.

For additional information, residents can contact the Reno County Treasurer’s Office at 620-694-2938.
