Linda Sue Simmons  |1949-2022|

Linda Sue Simmons, 73, of Hutchinson, died May 1, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society – Hutchinson Village. She was born March 26, 1949, in East St. Louis, IL, to Ralph and Louise (Pappas) Graves.

Linda was a member of Full Gospel Church and was a faithful Christ-follower who never ran out of love for others. In addition to being a homemaker, she provided daycare in her home for many beloved children.

On September 16, 1968, Linda married Carl A. Simmons, in Hutchinson. He died August 1, 1988.

She is survived by: her daughter, Paula Ward; son, Terry Simmons (Terrie) of Wichita; granddaughter, Katrina Hopkins (Shawn) of Hutchinson; siblings, Margie Smith of California, Gary Graves (Leona May) of Seattle, WA, John Graves of Hutchinson, Gloria Buck of Greenville, IL, Richard Graves (Kendall) of Tulsa, OK, Tina Tomlin (Tim Collins) of Oklahoma City, OK, Seberina Miller (David) of Hutchinson; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

Linda was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Mike Ward; step-children, Joyce Carter, Shirley Gray, James Simmons, David Simmons; and brothers, Ralph Graves, Steve Graves.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Betty Pinkston officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
