HFD graduates 9 new recruits

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department announced it graduated nine new recruits who have started work this week. 

The new firefighters are Zach Aden of Hutchinson, Ryan Aguilar of Topeka, Ivan Guerrero of Hutchinson, Dawson Harris of Hutchinson, Trey Markham of Topeka, Noah Martin from Los Angeles, California, Brandon Peterson of Hutchinson, Jeremy Webb from Pretty Prairie and Kenzie Wolf of Goddard. 

The class graduated after eight weeks of rigorous training that started back in May.

The fire department also promoted three of its own to the rank of captain. They are Brian Mencl, Jason Webb and Cody Young. The three were promoted during a special pinning ceremony on Friday.
