Man hospitalized after fall from UTV at SW Kansas college

SEWARD COUNTY —A man injured in an accident just before 11a.m. Wednesday in Liberal has died.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Polaris UTV driven by Tucker J. Smith, 26, Kismet, was northbound in 1800 Block of Frontage Road, 50-feet north of the Cosmetology Building at Seward County Community College.

The driver accelerated as the UTV turned the corner to travel east. An occupant in the bed of the UTV identified as Jacob G. Still, 29, Tyrone, Oklahoma, lost his balance and fell out.

EMS transported Still to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of a serious injury. He was pronounced deceased just before 11:30p.m. Wednesday.

Smith and another passenger were not injured.
