HARVEY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 2:30p.m. Tuesday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Peterbilt Dump truck driven by Derek S. Tracy, 32, Augusta, was southbound on Ridge Road at U.S. 50 two miles west of Newton. The driver failed to yield for a stop sign before entering the intersection and collided with an eastbound 1988 Cadillac Deville driven by Justin J. Farley, 43, Pretty Prairie. After impact, the Cadillac rolled onto its roof in the ditch on the Southwest corner of the intersection.
Farley was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Preferred Mortuary. EMS transported Tracy to Wesley Medical Center. Farley was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.

One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Ridge Road, according to the Harvey County Sheriff's Office.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:25 p.m.
Preliminary information from the sheriff's office indicates a southbound dump truck collided with an eastbound passenger car at the intersection. The driver of the passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency crews. Authorities said the driver suffered minor injuries.
The identity of the person killed has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Harvey County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
