HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Commissioners will consider an eminent domain resolution connected to the South McNew Road and Mills Avenue improvement project when they meet Wednesday.
The Reno County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 26 in the Veterans Room of the Reno County Courthouse, 206 W. First Ave. in Hutchinson.
Commissioners are scheduled to hold an executive session to discuss real estate easements needed for the South McNew Road/Mills Avenue Road Construction and Improvement Project.
Following the executive session, the commission will consider a resolution involving eminent domain for the project.
Commissioners will also revisit a proposed charter resolution concerning the county's Transient Guest Tax. The tax is generally collected from guests staying at hotels and other short-term lodging establishments.
Another business item involves a bid correction for the former Turon Fire Station at 208 N. Burns Street in Turon.
Several items are also included on the commission's consent agenda. Commissioners will consider rescinding Resolution 1989-49 and approve county vouchers and payments.
The commission will also consider declaring a 1999 Freightliner water truck as surplus property. According to the county, the vehicle was involved in an accident and has been determined to be a total loss.
Following the regular meeting, commissioners will hold a study and work session focused on next year's Reno County budget.
