🏈 Jordan Jr. named JUCOWeekly Trophy winner

CANYON, Texas — Hutchinson Community College sophomore running back Waymond Jordan Jr. has been named the JUCOWeekly National Player of the Year, presented at a banquet inside of the Legacy Hall at West Texas A&M University.

The sophomore from Pensacola, Fla. has ran the ball 193 times for 1,532 yards and 20 touchdowns through the first 11 games of the season. He will have one more time to shine under the lights of Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium in the national championship game on Wednesday.

Jordan Jr. ranks No. 3 on the single-season rushing list, 101 yards away from moving passing Jamison Palmer (1576) and Terrell Lane (1632) for first place. He ranks No. 2 on the single-season rushing touchdowns list with 20, one away from tying Mack Herron for first. He also is No. 2 on the single-season rushing average per attempt at 7.9 yards, 0.4 yards away from tying Larry Powell for first.
