HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team is predicted to finish third in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Division I women's soccer preseason poll, the KJCCC announced on Monday.
The Blue Dragons open their season on Sunday against Northeastern Junior College (Colo.) at 11 a.m. at the Salthawk Sports Complex. HutchCC will open up their KJCCC portion of the schedule Wednesday, August 23 at Garden City.
HutchCC finished the 2022 season with a 14-4 overall record, 10-3 in the KJCCC. The Blue Dragons fell to No. 4 Butler in the Region VI semifinals.
The Blue Dragons swept all three major conference awards and had seven members of the 2022 team earn All-Jayhawk West honors. HutchCC did graduate two-time Jayhawk West Offensive Player of the Year, Hadlie Lowe. Lowe also earned 2nd-Team NJCAA All-American honors last fall.
The National Junior College Athletic Association released its preseason Top 20 poll on Monday, as well, and the Blue Dragons are ranked No. 18 in that poll.
