HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Cancer Council of Reno County Board of Directors announced the hires of Ashley Thompson and Hannah Bleiberg Wednesday. They will fulfill the roles of Director of Patient Care and Director of Fundraising, respectively. Both hires will begin employment on September 13, 2021.
These hires come after the announcement of current Executive Director Sandy Woodson’s retirement. Woodson plans to retire at the end of the year. Thompson will step into the role as Director of Patient Care and will work alongside Woodson during the transition.

Thompson most recently has been with Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, where she served as Trauma Service Manager. She and her husband are both lifelong Hutchinson residents and are active in the community.

Bleiberg fills the role of Director of Fundraising as the Council begins planning for the 2022 Reno Round Up. Bleiberg and husband, Jay Johnson, moved to Hutchinson in 2019. She comes to Hutchinson from a long history of event planning on the East Coast and is ready to hit the ground running.
“We are excited and energized at the prospect of having two proven talents on staff”, says Mark Keeton, CCRC Board President. “Ashley brings a passion for patient care with her healthcare experience, and we’re excited to showcase Hannah’s event planning and execution skills.”
