
HESSTON, Kan. — Hutchinson Trinity Catholic put together a dominant showing Monday to win the Heart of America League boys golf tournament at Hesston Golf Course.
The Celtics shot a 315 as a team, finishing 29 strokes ahead of second-place Sterling, which shot a 344. Berean Academy was third with a 366, followed by Sedgwick at 410, Marion at 421, Whitewater-Remington at 424 and Ell-Saline at 474. Inman did not have a team score.
Trinity Catholic had four golfers finish inside the top nine, including the individual champion.
Tyler Casebolt won a playoff over teammate Miles Blaylock after both golfers shot 76 on the par-71 course. Casebolt opened with a 37 before closing with a 39, while Blaylock shot 39 on the front nine and 37 on the back.
Dean Nelson added an 80 to finish fourth, while Matt Armour tied for fifth with an 83. Ian Shaw finished ninth with an 86, and Seamus Hogan tied for 16th with a 96.
Sterling was led by Wyatt Newberry, who tied for fifth with an 83. Cameron Morris finished seventh with an 84, Lane Weigel was 10th with an 88 and Ian Dillard placed 11th with an 89. Zac Wohler tied for 12th with a 93, and Billy Higgins shot 102.
