KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three Kansas City Royals players have been named finalists for the 2026 Silver Slugger Awards, Louisville Slugger announced Thursday.

Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., rookie catcher Carter Jensen and outfielder Jac Caglianone are among the finalists for the annual awards, which recognize the top offensive players at each position in Major League Baseball.

Kansas City is one of five teams with at least three finalists this season, joining the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.

Winners will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Witt, 26, is seeking his third consecutive Silver Slugger Award after winning the honor in 2024 and 2025. He batted .281 with 18 home runs, 54 RBIs, 33 doubles and 45 stolen bases in 143 games this season.

His 45 stolen bases ranked second in the American League, while his 7.0 wins above replacement, according to FanGraphs, ranked second in the majors.

Among American League shortstops, Witt led in hits, doubles, batting average, on-base percentage and stolen bases.

A third consecutive award would make Witt the first American League shortstop to accomplish the feat since Derek Jeter won four straight from 2006-09. He would also become the first player in Royals history to win three consecutive Silver Slugger Awards.

Jensen, 23, emerged as one of baseball's top offensive catchers during his rookie season, batting .239 with 27 home runs, 81 RBIs and 35 doubles in 149 games.

His 27 home runs established a Royals rookie record, surpassing Bob Hamelin's 24 in 1994. Jensen also recorded 64 extra-base hits, breaking the major league record for a rookie catcher previously held by Mike Piazza, who had 61 in 1993.

Among American League catchers, Jensen led in runs scored and doubles, tied for the lead in home runs and ranked second in RBIs and walks.

If selected, Jensen would become the second Royals catcher to win a Silver Slugger, joining Salvador Perez, who has won five. Jensen would also become just the fifth rookie catcher in major league history to receive the honor.

Caglianone, 23, is seeking his first Silver Slugger Award after batting .289 with 23 home runs, 75 RBIs and 32 doubles.

He ranked fourth in the American League in batting average, sixth in slugging percentage and ninth in OPS.

Caglianone was particularly productive over the final four months of the season, batting .317 with a .914 OPS in 89 games beginning June 1. He also participated in the Home Run Derby and earned American League Player of the Month honors for August.

A victory would make Caglianone just the second Royals outfielder to win a Silver Slugger, joining Willie Wilson, who received the award in 1980 and 1982.

The Silver Slugger Awards are determined by votes from major league managers and coaches, who evaluate players based on offensive statistics and overall offensive performance.

Kansas City has produced seven Silver Slugger finalists over the past two seasons, the most of any major league team during that span.
