Residents are invited to tour a new fire station in Nickerson later this month as Reno County Fire District 1 hosts an open house at Station 31.
The open house is scheduled for Friday, February 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the new station located at 206 South Burr Street in Nickerson.
Fire district officials say the event is an opportunity for community members to see the new facility, meet local firefighters, and learn more about fire and emergency services in the area. Visitors will be given guided tours of the station and its equipment.
Food will also be available during the event, with potato soup, garlic bread, and dessert served to those who attend.
Parking for the open house will be available behind the station, with access from the north off Avenue G. Attendees may also park in front of the former fire station.
The event is open to the public, and residents of Nickerson and surrounding communities are encouraged to attend.
