BUHLER, Kan. — Buhler teachers and the district have a new collective bargaining agreement for the school year. During a special meeting of the USD 313 School Board, the new contract was approved that will give teachers an overall increase in pay and benefits of 1.3%.
Under the new contract, the base pay for teachers will go up to $37,800. All teachers will get $16 extra paid on their insurance by the district along with education incentives.
The board also approved a wage increase for administration and classified staff. Under the agreement, those employees will get a 1% pay increase along with $16 extra paid by the district for insurance. The increases total about $170,000 to the overall budget.
The new contract for teachers starts immediately while the administrative and classified employees will get back pay to July 1.
