HAVEN, Kan. — After giving it initial approval, the Haven City Council gave final approval of pay increases across the board for city employees. The action came during last night's agenda session.

The city will provide a 1.3% cost of living allowance for all part and full-time employees, with an additional up to 1% increase for longevity for all employees who have worked for the city for five full years or more. It also provides up to a 2.7% increase based on an employee’s superior job performance, documented and justified through ongoing, written performance evaluations done by his or her supervisor. The employees must be working full time for the city for at least 12 months.

Though the council approved the raises at their last meeting, a resolution was needed to make it official. The pay increases began with the start of the new year.
