Hutchinson Symphony announces upcoming season

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Symphony announced their 2022-2023 Season on Monday.

Performances are back at Hutchinson's Historic Fox Theatre this year for all four concerts. You can also purchase tickets there during regular box office hours. Individual tickets will go on sale in August.

Those who wish to donate to help can get their names in the program if they donate by August 31st.

A letter will be coming in the mail soon for those on the list with a season brochure from the Fox Theatre with all of this year's information.

The Dreams from the Silver Screen Concert is Thursday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. with music from The King’s Speech, Beethoven’s 7th, Rhapsody in Blue from Woody Allen’s Manhattan, Across the Stars from Star Wars and much more.

Guest artists will include Hutchinson’s own Amy Frederick singing selections from Titanic and Dr. Christina Liu from Bethel College playing Rhapsody in Blue.

The Dreams of Christmas Concert is Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m. with traditional and inspirational holiday music featuring area high school choirs, Anderson Concerto Winners, and a return engagement by the Celtic Group “Knocknasheega”

The Dreams of Freedom Concert is Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 7:30 p.m., featuring “Voices Shouting Out” by Composer Nkeiru Okoye, Afro-American Symphony by William Grant Still, Ascension for Solo Clarinet and Strings and The Lincoln Portrait by Copland, Narrated by Kansas State Representative Jason Probst.

The Beyond Your Wildest Dreams Season Finale is Thursday April 13, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. That concert will feature new music for a New World - Dvorak's New World Symphony. And back by popular demand, violinist Dr. Timothy Jones.
