Gary Dean Wichert, 66, passed away March 26, 2022 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City. He was born July 14, 1955 in Hutchinson, the son of Marion J. and Anna (Wedel) Wichert.
Gary was in the Buhler High School graduating class of 1973. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher, and also a skilled carpenter. He was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church.
Gary married Bonnie Sue Willems on September 16, 1978 in Inman, Kansas at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church. She survives of their home.
Other survivors include: sons, Eric (Megan) Wichert of Wichita and Brent (Cindy) Wichert of Buhler; daughter, Estelle Wichert of Wichita; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Pearl (Jim) Wassenaar of Prinsburg, Minnesota, Dorothy (Merlin) Nightingale of Enid, Oklahoma, Shirley Wichert and Faye Wichert both of Hutchinson; brothers, Earl (Sally) Wichert of Hutchinson, Gaylen (Nancy) Wichert of Buhler and LaVerne (Alice) Wichert of Wheatland, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church. Burial will follow at the Buhler East Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7:30 p.m., Friday, April 1, at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church with family greeting friends from 6-7:30 p.m.
