NICKERSON, Kan. — The Nickerson USD 309 School Board held a special meeting Wednesday evening to go over its list of candidates for the vacant Superintendent position.

The board will begin interviews with potential candidates Monday. According to Sue Givens with the Kansas Association of School Boards, the district will announce a candidate each day that they interview one. She could not say how many finalists would be interviewed.

The KASB has been assisting the district in finding a replacement for Dr. Dawn Johnson. Johnson is preparing to become the new Executive Director of Human Resources for Hutchinson USD 308.

The Nickerson School Board hopes to make a hire for the top job by the end of the month.
