The USD 308 Board of Education met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday evening. &nbsp;

In the meeting the board of education was presented with a first look at the 2025-2026 calendar. &nbsp;This proposal was developed by the calendar committee. &nbsp;

This committee is composed of five USD 308 staff members, five HNEA members and three parents. &nbsp;&nbsp;A survey was conducted amongst staff and parents so they could gather input on an additional non-contact day. &nbsp;As a result of the survey, Sept. 8 was selected, this coincides with the Kansas State Fair. &nbsp;The survey also addressed any potential for a late start, a topic discussed during the last board meeting. &nbsp;&nbsp;

In other board business, they approved the purchase of 1,200 Chrome Books for student use. These will replace older Chromebooks that are four years or older. &nbsp;The board also approved the purchase of 300 Apple MacBook laptops for staff to replace those that are four years or older that are being used by staff. &nbsp;

The board approved the first phase of ClearTouch Interactive Display Panels, these are replacing panels that were purchased in 2018 and 2019 which have reached the end of support. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Replacement of flooring at Faris was approved. &nbsp;This work will be done this summer. &nbsp;
