HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community College has released its 2026 football schedule, with the Blue Dragons set to play 11 regular-season games, including six at Gowans Stadium.
Hutchinson will open the season at home Thursday, Aug. 20, against Cisco College (Texas). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gowans Stadium.
The Blue Dragons will play their first road game Aug. 29 at Ellsworth in Iowa Falls, Iowa, before opening Jayhawk Conference play Sept. 12 at home against Garden City Community College.
Hutchinson will travel to El Dorado on Sept. 19 to play Butler, before hosting Iowa Western on Sept. 26 in a rematch of last season’s national championship game. Iowa Western defeated Hutchinson 28-10 in the title game in Canyon, Texas.
The Blue Dragons went 11-1 last season, winning the Jayhawk Conference championship outright and earning the No. 1 overall seed in the NJCAA Division I playoffs. Hutchinson defeated Northwest Mississippi 27-0 in the national semifinals before falling to Iowa Western in the championship game.
The 2026 schedule continues with a road game at Highland on Oct. 3, followed by home games against Independence on Oct. 10 and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on Oct. 24.
Hutchinson will travel to Coffeyville on Oct. 17 before closing the home portion of the regular season Oct. 31 against Dodge City. The Blue Dragons wrap up the regular season Nov. 7 at Iowa Central in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Hutchinson has been one of the top junior college programs in the country under head coach Drew Dallas. Dallas is 60-6 in six seasons with the Blue Dragons, leading the program to five regular-season Jayhawk Conference titles, five national playoff appearances, four national championship game appearances and national titles in 2020-21 and 2024.
