
Melvin A. Yoder, 92, died July 2, 2020. He was born January 13, 1928, in Lagrange, IN, the son of Albert and Saloma (Troyer) Yoder.
Melvin was a retired farmer and carpenter. Many family and friends enjoyed and benefited from his talent in furniture making. Melvin was a member of Plainview Mennonite Church.
On August 15, 1948, he married Gertie Yoder. They shared almost 72 years of marriage. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Morris (Gloria) Yoder, Hutchinson, Marlene (Ben) Miller, Wichita, Marilyn (Bob) Swartzbeck, Fort Worth, TX, Lorena Perodin, Westminster, CO, and Doris (Randy) Yoder, Yuma, AZ; 11 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Yoder of Hutchinson; and brother, Harry Yoder of Middlebury, IN.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Denise; brothers, Thomas and Mervin; and sisters, Catherine Miller and Mae Yoder.
Private graveside service will be Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Plainview Mennonite Church, with Pastors Terry Yoder and Orville Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
