HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Northwest Florida State College used a stingy defense in an up-tempo game against Vincennes University in the late game at the Sports Arena.
The Raiders 76-62 win creates a matchup on Wednesday night against Panhandle Conference foe Gulf Coast State. The Raiders and Commodores met three times during the season and the Raiders won two of those games.
The Raiders jump out to a quick 7-point lead at the 18-minute mark of the first half, but Vincennes quickly answered and went on a 17-point run to take a 10-point lead at the 9:40 mark of the first half. The game featured 4 lead changes and one tie.
The Trailblazers were led in scoring by Dayton Williams with 27 points. Also in double figures was Jalen Calloway with 17 and Drae Vasser chipped in 12. Vincennes shot 40% from the floor in 24 of 60 shooting with 7 threes. They added 7-11 from the charity stripe.
For the Raiders they were led with 30 points off the bench by Damarion Vann-Kelly. Also in double figures was Braylon Roman with 16 and Jonas Nichols added 14. The Raiders shot 28 of 60 from the floor with 10 for 23 shooting from behind the arc. They also shot 10 of 12 from the charity stripe.
Vincennes ends the season at 31-3.
