Shirley Sue Wheatley, age 81, of Andover, was born in Yellville, Arkansas. She passed away at home and went to be with her heavenly Father on July 30, 2022, in Andover.
Daughter of the late Salitus Albert Keene and Lillian Viola Timm Keene, she was the third oldest of eleven children. Shirley’s life was being with her family and in her earlier years she loved her work. She worked early on in nursing and later on in the aircraft industry as an electrical mod tech. She loved gardening and most importantly being with her grand and great grand-children. Shirley knew her Lord and Savior and is living in eternity with Jesus today! She is preceding in death by her parents and five siblings.
She is survived by five siblings, and her daughters Marlenna (Bill) Berger of Wichita Falls, Tx; Melody Gard (Brad) of Blue Springs Mo; and Christina (Jeremy) Janzen of Newton; sons Tommy Wheatley (Joanna) of Wichita; Bradley Wheatley of Andover; and fourteen grand-children and nineteen great grand-children.
Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 p.m., August 4, 2022 at Petersen Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday August 5, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery in Oatville Township in Wichita.
