HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson firefighters dealt with two calls Wednesday afternoon. The first was at 1:41 p.m.in the 700 block of East Avenue B. A structure fire was reported, but arriving crews found a haze of smoke and the smell of electrical when they entered. Crews found a set of overheated breakers. There was no fire damage.
At 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, fire crews were called out to the 300 block of East Park Street for a structure fire. Arriving crews found heavy smoke and fire showing from the back side of a single story residential home. Crews extinguished the exterior fire and then attacked inside. The fire damaged one room and the attic space, there was smoke damage throughout the home.
Three occupants were at home at the time of the fire. No one was hurt, but the three people are displaced and the investigation is ongoing.
