A Nickerson man died on Sunday afternoon as the result of a single-vehicle accident in the county.
The Reno County Sheriff's office said that shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, they, along with Reno County EMS and Reno County Fire District Number 3, were dispatched to Nickerson Boulevard just northwest of 56 Avenue. Life-saving measures were performed on the victim, but he was declared dead at the scene.
The Sheriff's Office said that 54-year-old Bruce Steocklein of Nickerson was riding his motorcycle when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle left the roadway and continued in the north ditch before coming to rest.
