The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team earned the No. 3 overall seed for the 2026 Region 6 Tournament, the KJCCC released on Monday.
The third-seeded Blue Dragons (9-6-3) will play host to the sixth-seeded Barton Cougars (4-6-8) at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Salthawk Soccer Complex.
The Hutchinson-Barton winner will then meet the Butler/Coffeyville winner in the semifinals on Wednesday, November 4. The championship game is on Saturday, November 7 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Coffeyville.
Hutchinson went 1-0-1 against Barton this season in the regular season. The Blue Dragons rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw at Barton on September 9. The Blue Dragons fell behind Barton 2-0 once again at the Salthawk Soccer Complex on October 3 and rallied for a 5-3 victory.
Friday's meeting will be the fifth postseason matchup between Hutchinson and Barton, the first since 2014. The Blue Dragons have won all four previous Region 6 Tournament matches with the Cougars, including a 2-0 victory in the Blue Dragons' first-ever postseason appearance in their inaugural season of 2005.
Hutchinson is 16-5 all-time in opening-round Region 6 Tournament games. The Dragons are 12-2 in postseason openers at the Salthawk Soccer Complex.
Hutchinson enters the game on a two-game win streak.
