
Gerald ‘Gary’ Teter, 79, died August 15, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 3, 1941, in Hutchinson, to Jerald and Doris (Field) Teter.
On July 13, 1963, he married Donna Dailey at Bethany Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson. Gary and Donna met at church while in high school. They shared 58 years of marriage and have attended Bethany Church of the Nazarene their entire lives.
Gary graduated from Buhler High School in 1959 and Hutchinson Community College in 1962. He was a farmer and stockman his entire life. Gary was a man of few words, but when he spoke his words of wisdom were worth listening to. Gary enjoyed the outdoors and working with animals. Farming was truly his passion. Gary delighted in bringing home unique animals from the sale barn for the grandkids to enjoy. Grandkids were his pride and joy.
Gary is survived by: wife, Donna of Buhler; children, Mark Teter of Kingman, Brenda Schweizer (Tim) of Sterling, and Debbie Feyh (Richard) of Alma; 10 grandchildren, Jana Taylor (Bryan), Kyle Teter (Stacey), Zach Teter, Abby Teter, Danie Prieb (Levi), Austin Schweizer, Ashley Love (Bryan), Macy Pickman (Ryan), Taylee Anderson, and Trex Anderson; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger.
Celebration of Gary’s Life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2020, at Bethany Church of the Nazarene, 408 N. Kent Road, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jay Bessmer officiating. Burial will follow in Buhler Municipal East Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

Per Gary’s request, please wear colors other than black to the funeral. He felt it should be a time of celebration instead of sadness.
