MARION COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 6a.m. Thursday in Marion County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Chevy Silverado driven by Gregory Scott Campbell, 32, Emporia, was westbound on U.S. 56 just east of Kansas 256 one and one half miles west of Marion. The pickup crossed the center line and struck a 2015 Freightliner semi driven by Brian A McGrew, 51, Longford, head-on. After impact the semi overturned and blocked U.S. 56.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Jost Funeral Home. McGrew was not transported to treatment. Campbell was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
