The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference football schedule continues Saturday with five games, including several involving nationally ranked teams.

No. 2 Hutchinson will look to build on its season-opening victory when the Blue Dragons travel to Iowa Falls, Iowa, to face Ellsworth Community College at 11 a.m. You can hear the game on the Blue Dragon Radio Network with Countdown to Kickoff starting at 10:30 a.m. from Cadet Field with Sean Boston and Daren Dunn.

Hutchinson opened the season with a 59-7 victory over Cisco College and is the highest-ranked KJCCC team in the Week 1 NJCAA Division I poll. The Blue Dragons received one first-place vote and sit behind only top-ranked Iowa Western.

No. 13 Butler opens its season with another matchup of ranked teams, traveling to Fort Dodge, Iowa, to face No. 15 Iowa Central at noon.

Highland will also face a major early-season test when the Scotties travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa, for a 1 p.m. matchup against No. 1 Iowa Western. Highland enters the weekend 0-1.

Conference play gets underway Saturday night when Independence travels to Garden City for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Broncbuster Stadium. Garden City is ranked No. 14 nationally and will look to bounce back from a season-opening loss.

No. 7 Coffeyville opens its season at 7 p.m. against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. NEO is among the teams receiving votes in this week’s NJCAA poll.

Hutchinson, Coffeyville, Butler and Garden City give the KJCCC four teams in the NJCAA Division I Top 15.
