INMAN, Kan. — The City of Inman is urging residents and visitors to use extra caution following a report of a possible mountain lion sighting in the area of the Motocross & Country Park.
City officials said the sighting has not been confirmed, but they are sharing the information to make the public aware of the report.
Those in and around the park are encouraged to remain alert and keep children and pets close.
If someone encounters a mountain lion, safety guidance recommends not approaching the animal or running. People should give the animal plenty of space, make themselves appear larger and slowly back away.
Any additional sightings should be reported to the appropriate local authorities.
The City of Inman emphasized that the reported sighting remains unconfirmed and that the notice is being issued as a precaution so residents and visitors can use appropriate caution while enjoying the area.
