City Council to approve ARPA listening resolution Tuesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will approve its version of the ARPA listening resolution during its regular meeting on Tuesday.

ARPA is the American Rescue Plan Act, where federal money is being passed on to local jurisdictions to assist with infrastructure.

The resolution says that the city will listen to feedback given through the public meetings of the ARPA taskforce, however just as the county's resolution approved last week did, the final paragraph notes that the governing body has sole discretion over how the money is spent, subject to federal guidelines and that the governing body will not be bound by any task force recommendations.

The City Council will also have its regular consent agenda and comments from members and from City Manager Jeff Cantrell.

The Hutchinson City Council meets Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at City Hall.
