USD 308 has about 670 students learning online as year begins

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The school year is a week old in USD 308 and on Monday District Spokesperson Ray Hemman released some numbers regarding those students who are learning from home this year.

According to the district, there are 3,840 students in the district. 3,170 or 82% are learning at school facilities. Another 435 students or 11% are learning remotely but plan to return to school sometime this year. About 6% or 235 students have chosen to learn online for the entire year.

Meals are available for those who are learning online and arrangements must be made ahead of time for meals. For students who qualify for free meals, there will be no charge for the meals and those on reduced lunch programs will get the meals at a reduced rate.
