Linda ‘Nana’ Hooker, passed away January 29, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born September 30, 1950, in Stafford, to Charles Tyler and Bernice Arlene (Mangels) Hooker.
Linda was a 1968 graduate of Fairfield High School, Langdon. She was the Supervisor of Bindery with R.L. Polk & Company, Hutchinson, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Over the course of her career, she also worked at Milwaukee Tool, Southern Extrusion, Howmet, and Graphic Impressions.
Linda was affectionately known as ‘Nana’ to her family, as well as her friends and neighbors. She was very involved in her grandkids’ lives and tried to make it to every concert, sporting event, and important moment in their lives. Linda never went more than a day or two without loving on her grandbabies. They were her world! In Linda’s spare time, she was an avid reader of Romance novels.
Linda is survived by: her daughter, Kylea (Bryan) Hamel of Hutchinson; honorary children, Ashley Flores of Hutchinson, Timothy Patrick of Hutchinson, and Christy Patrick of Wichita; brother, Ronald Hooker of Plevna; and grandchildren, Neshae (Lonnie) Autry, Tyler (Valerie Kepfield) Hallford, Jaron Nicewander, Eli Hallford, Nautika Richards, Brett Hamel, Kaitlin Flores, Adian Flores, Javen Hamel, Travis Patrick, and Annastee Griffith-Hamel.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Harold Nelson officiating. Friends and family may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
