HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Commissioners approved a salary increase for the four elected officials during Tuesday’s agenda session.

Under the resolution, the increase is 3% across the board. Sheriff Darian Campbell will see his pay increase to $93,472; County Register of Deeds Michelle Updegrove will receive $68,592; Treasurer Brenda Kowitz will now be paid 56,821; and County Clerk Donna Patton will see an increase to $75,117.

The three county commissioners are not included in the pay increase. There was some discussion over the increase being too much. Commissioner Ron Sellers noted that they will let the elected officials know how generous they were this year come next year’s budget cycle.
