TOPEKA, Kan.—Hutch High Volleyball team is having an outstanding year and one player on the team passed the 1,000-career kill mark recently vs Topeka Seaman High at Seaman's invitational tournament.
Maliyah Johnson, 5'11" outside hitter for the Salthawks had 5 kills vs Seaman to pass the prestigious mark.
Johnson had 28+ kills total for the weekend and has 196 kills this season for the Salthawks who are now 21-5 after sweeping Derby and Newton on Tuesday night. Hutch High is also undefeated in AVCTL play at 5-0. In addition, Johnson had 17 kills in one match vs Valley Center earlier in the season.
Hutch High Volleyball's next action is in Great Bend on Saturday as they participate in a invitational at Great Bend High School.
