
As of 3:00 p.m. From McPherson USD 418: McPherson PD and McPherson County Sheriff’s Dept. have determined that there is no known threat inside or near the vicinity of McPherson High School as of dismissal time.
Law enforcement is continues to be present at McPherson High School on-campus and will remain present at dismissal.
Any parent/guardian that wishes to pick up their student may do so at this time by pulling up single file on the south side of the high school near the main entrance.
We will be dismissing students at 2:50 by grade level beginning with freshmen, then sophomores, juniors, then seniors. Students will only be dismissed through the front south door and the west door to the west parking lot.
Students will not be allowed to remain on campus.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we honor our commitment in maintaining the safety of each student and staff member.
Students remaining for practice for activities will remain inside until given the all clear. Parents of students in activities are welcome to pick up their student or advise them to come home.

2:34PM - PreK, Elementary and Middle School students will be dismissed according to standard procedures at the normal dismissal times, according to USD 418.
2:25p.m. McPherson High School remains on lockdown as police conduct a final review of interior and exterior of the building, according to USD 418.
All students and staff are safe, but remain on lockdown until final review is complete.

McPherson, KS - McPherson Police reported Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. that McPherson High School in currently on lock down, due to a report of a subject with a firearm.
McPherson Police Officers and Deputies are at the school searching inside and outside for a suspect. Please avoid the area.
According to USD 418, "The school is safe but will remain in lockdown. Out of an abundance of caution, all other building are taking appropriate safety measures."
