MCPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — One person died in an accident at 7:45 a.m. Saturday in McPherson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Mickey W.&nbsp;Mitani, 69, Bellevue, Nebraska, was eastbound&nbsp;on K61 Highway two miles south of U.S. 56. The driver failed to navigate the left hand turn to the northbound Interstate 135 ramp. The SUV traveled off the road, went airborne, struck the ground and rolled onto it's top.

Mitani was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt according to the KHP.
