RENO COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 6:30a.m. Monday in Reno County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Chevy Colorado driven by Willard Helmuth, 66, Hutchinson, was eastbound on U.S. 50 at Blanchard Road. The driver turned northbound towards Blanchard in front of a westbound 2008 Honda Civic driven by Jacob Scott Wallman, 18, Sterling. After impact the pickup came to rest in the southeast ditch.
EMS transported Helmuth to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Wallman was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
