Reno County Tag, Treasurer’s Offices to Close April 14 for Training

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Tag Department and Treasurer’s Office will be closed for one day next week to allow staff to complete mandatory state training.

County officials announced the offices will be closed Tuesday, April 14, 2026, as all employees participate in required training tied to the State of Kansas motor vehicle registration system. Officials said the training is necessary to ensure staff remain compliant and up to date with system requirements.

The temporary closure will affect only the Tag Department and Treasurer’s Office. All other offices located within the Reno County Courthouse Annex will remain open during normal business hours.

Services will resume the following day, with both offices reopening at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15.

County leaders are asking residents to plan ahead for any tag or vehicle-related business and expressed appreciation for the public’s patience as staff complete the training aimed at improving service.
