CITY OF HUTCHINSON
As City of Hutchinson crews prepare for a major water valve replacement project next week, motorists are being advised to expect temporary lane reductions near the intersection of 30th Avenue and Plum Street.
City officials said traffic has been reduced to a single lane on the north side of 30th Avenue and on Plum Street to allow crews to safely begin preparation work ahead of the valve replacement.
No roads are currently closed, and traffic remains open through the area. However, drivers are encouraged to use caution and watch for workers and construction equipment while traveling through the intersection.
The lane reductions are part of the preliminary work needed before the water valve replacement project begins next week. City officials said additional details about the project, including potential impacts to residents and motorists during construction, will be released later today.
Motorists should plan for possible delays and consider allowing extra travel time when passing through the area. The city is expected to provide further updates as the project progresses.
