NEWTON, Kan. — The Harvey County Commission announced the resignation of Harvey County Administrator Anthony Swartzendruber at their commission meeting Tuesday. Swartzendruber will continue in the role through Dec. 27.
"It has been a privilege to serve and work for the citizens of Harvey County. This was not an easy decision for me, but I am excited about the future," Swartzendruber said. "Our County has tremendous working relationships with organizations and economic partners across the region. I also feel our staff is second-to-none. I will miss the many friends and partners I have gotten the opportunity to work alongside the past 14 years, but Harvey County has a bright future and remains in good hands."
Swartzendruber began his career with Harvey County in 2010. He became the administrator in 2017.
The Commission will discuss the administrator vacancy in the coming weeks. The commissioners and the staff of Harvey County are grateful for Anthony's leadership over many years. We wish him the best in the future.
