Troopers recover a stolen gun at the Kansas State Fair

HUTCHINSON — Kansas State Highway Patrol troopers are very busy at the Kansas State Fair. 

On Sunday night, troopers recovered a stolen firearm, according to a social media report from Trooper Tod Hileman . This is the second firearms related incident Hileman has communicated during the fair.

On Friday night troopers responded to a subject brandishing a weapon on the fairgrounds, according to Hileman.

The subject was placed under arrest for being a felon in possession of a firearm and for possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

"KHP Troopers are dedicated to your protection even while you’re having fun at the Kansas State Fair," Hileman said on social media.

The KHP released no additional details including the name of the suspect in the Friday night arrest.
