-The McPherson Bullpups make just their second state tournament appearance in program history... defeated Winfield and Abilene in regional play, both in shutout fashion, outscoring the two 16-0... second straight year as undefeated AVCTL-III champions... two of three losses came to 6A qualifiers Derby and Manhattan... only three seniors on current roster... sophomore Addison Chapman is 11-2 in the circle with a 2.20 ERA and 113 strikeouts on the season...

-Haven returns to the state tournament for the seventh time in the past nine seasons, and have been a 3A powerhouse under head coach Darin Ashworth... Wildcats finished as runner-up in 2016 & 2017 and three third place finishes... Haven has won the Central Kansas League in four of the past five seasons... defeated Conway Springs/Argonia, Kingman/Norwich and Wichita Trinity en route to the state tournament... freshman Avery Brawner has had a standout first year going 16-1 in the circle with a 1.49 ERA and 104 punch outs... junior Sadie Estill leads the offense with a .634 average and 41 RBI
