Suspect in Kansas Amber Alert faces multiple charges

WICHITA —A man arrested following a Kansas Amber Alert faces multiple requested charges after police captured him and rescued the 5-year-old boy.

Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, 5-year-old Trevawn Strong Jr. was forcibly taken from his mother by his father 30-year-old Trevawn Strong Sr. utilizing a knife and firearm during a domestic incident at their residence at 2025 S. Grove, Wichita, according to police.

 Strong  threatened to kill his son, stabbed the boy's mother, and took the child.  The Kansas Bureau reported the was in imminent danger. The suspect left in a vehicle, but that vehicle was been recovered in the 1900 block of N. Woodlawn in Wichita.

Just before 9p.m. police located the child and took the father into custody. Trevawn Strong is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on requested charges that include aggravated assault, criminal threat, criminal discharge of a firearm, domestic battery, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and aggravated endangering a child.
