
NICKERSON, Kan. — The Nickerson USD 309 School Board will take action on a new collective bargaining agreement with its teachers during Monday’s agenda session.
Under the new contract, base pay for teachers will increase to $38,550. The board will also go over a Memorandum of Understanding which was put into the new agreement that deals with any changes in the school year due to the pandemic.
Under the agreement, the parties agree to create a committee consisting of representatives from each school building, a principal, and the superintendent. The committee shall collaboratively identify necessary changes to the professional agreement if the school year is altered in any way.
Any changes deemed necessary must receive a majority of votes in the committee to be approved, any changes would be in effect immediately and would be in place until the end of the contract June 30, 2021.
Tonight’s meeting of the Nickerson USD 309 School Board begins at 7 p.m. at Reno Valley Middle School.
