COVID-19 active cases at second-highest single day total on Monday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to the Monday update on the Reno County COVID-19 dashboard, the number of active cases is at 1,497 as of Monday morning, which is the second-highest single day active case count since measurement began.

The total cases have increased by almost 4,000 since December 30. On December 30, 2021 there had been 13,031 total cases, as of Monday, there have been 16,989 cases.

The death toll attributed to COVID-19 is at 208 as of Monday. There are 28 total Reno County residents hospitalized as of Monday.

Hutchinson Regional said that as of Sunday, they had 27 COVID-19 patients. Twenty-five of those are unvaccinated. Their total census as of Sunday was 80. Staffing allows for approximately 90 patients in the hospital for all causes, depending on illness severity.
