The Reno County Commission will consider a series of public hearings and resolutions Wednesday that could move the proposed Salt Lick destination golf and commercial development another step forward.

Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the Veterans Room of the Reno County Courthouse, where much of the agenda is devoted to financing and development plans for the project.

The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the proposed issuance of taxable Industrial Revenue Bonds for the Salt Lick Golf Course Project. Following the hearing, commissioners will consider Resolution 2026-20, which would amend and restate a previous resolution authorizing the issuance of taxable industrial revenue bonds to help finance the acquisition, construction, furnishing and equipping of a destination golf facility and other commercial facilities planned for the development.

The resolution would also authorize the execution of related financing documents.

Commissioners will then receive a presentation outlining the Salt Lick project plans before holding another public hearing on three proposed STAR Bond project plans.

The hearing will consider Salt Lick STAR Bond Project Plans 1, 2 and 3 individually, allowing discussion on each proposal before the commission votes on separate resolutions to adopt the plans.

If approved, Resolutions 2026-21, 2026-22 and 2026-23 would formally adopt the three STAR Bond project plans, a key step in allowing future sales tax revenues generated within the development to help finance eligible project costs.

The commission will also conduct a third public hearing regarding the creation of Community Improvement Districts for Salt Lick Phases I, II and III.

Following that hearing, commissioners are scheduled to consider three additional resolutions establishing separate Community Improvement Districts for each phase of the project.

The proposed districts would authorize a Community Improvement District sales tax, approve estimated project costs, establish financing methods and authorize other actions related to the development.

Wednesday's meeting represents one of the most significant milestones to date for the proposed Salt Lick project, as county officials consider several economic development tools designed to help finance what has been described as a destination golf course and accompanying commercial development in Reno County.

All three public hearings will provide opportunities for public comment before the commission considers final action on the proposed resolutions.

In other business, the commissioner will consider the disposition of the former fire district station in Turon.

The commission meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Veterans Room of the Reno County Courthouse.
