HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutch Rec Foundation is seeking donations on Giving Tuesday.
"We're doing different initiatives across Hutch Rec, all of the different divisions and initiatives that we work on," said Amy Conkling with Hutch Rec. "It's a $25 donation to the initiative of your choice. You can pick and choose however many you want."
Initiatives include Parks and Trails, Youth Sports and Recreation, Nature and Open Space, Senior Recreation and Services, Arts and Humanities, Neighborhood Development and Community Recreation and Events.
"Those smaller donations and donors, it's perfect for them to log on to hutchrec.com/foundation," Conkling said. "That will take them to our Better Unite platform and they can find out more information about the initiatives that they can donate to."
The Hutch Rec Foundation is there to be sure that kids who want to participate in activities can do so regardless of their family's means.
"Youth throughout the community participate in our programs through youth scholarships," Conkling said. "Those dollars go toward that. They also go toward a lot of community events that we have for free."
