Sheriff: Kansas man arrested while visiting friend in jail

A Salina man who went to the Saline County Jail to visit a friend Thursday afternoon ended up in jail.

Just after 1:30p.m. Thursday, Anthony Harris, 59, of Salina, went to the Saline County Jail to visit a friend, according to Sheriff Roger Soldan. While he was there, the corrections officers learned that Harris had an outstanding warrant.

When the corrections officers went out to the jail lobby to arrest him, Harris allegedly threw a marijuana pipe in the trash, according to Soldan.

Additionally, when Harris was taken back to the booking area, he allegedly tossed a baggie of marijuana onto the floor. Corrections officers also allegedly found a baggie of methamphetamine among Harris' possessions.

In addition to the warrant, Harris is being held on requested charges of Trafficking contraband, Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia
