WICHITA, Kan. — A person who had been arrested in connection with a fire that broke out last week near the historic Orpheum Theatre will make his first appearance in Sedgwick County District Court on Wednesday.
Jeremy Wycoff was taken into custody on suspicion of arson, according to Sedgwick County’s online booking records. The fire occurred last Thursday, prompting a response from fire crews after thick black smoke and visible flames were reported in the area.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the blaze limited to a pile of building materials near the 102-year-old theater. No damage was reported to the Orpheum, and no injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
